Default Carb problems?

2002 Sportsman 700

I inadvertently took it swimming the last time I rode it.
Brought it home, cleaned it out, changed all fluids: oil, tranny fluid, both gear cases and gas tank. Blew out the cylinders, checked under the valve covers, cleaned out all of the sand I could find.
I broke one spark plug boot and replaced it with an NGK splice and new boot. I’m getting plenty of spark and the carb bowl is filling with gas.
It just won’t start. Before the swimming lesson it started and ran like a new one. I’ve cleaned the carb bowl, and the slide area.

What am I missing? It just cranks like it’s trying to start but won’t. I pull the plugs and the left one is wet but the right one is dry. How can this be happening? Any ideas?

TIA,
bob

Yes. We are getting plenty of spark.
The spark plugs are dry after cranking, and the carb bowl is full.

But di you clean and dry ALL connections, plugs, anywhere those way too small wires join eachother.Does you machine have the recoil pull starter? If so remove the cover and dry it out.I am not an expert, just some things to do before I would start spending money.

Am I missing something? I have plenty of fire and all electrical works. What I don’t have is fuel flow from the carb.

What is there electrical that would cause that?

The quad is running again. Thanks for all the help.

I removed the muffler and it started right up. We had previously done this to make sure we got the water out of it, but I decided to try it again and it worked.
I then replaced the muffler and it still runs fine. I do not know why, but I’m happy it’s running again.
Maybe it’s time for a new one?

Very true. I know my Xplorer inside and out.
I’ve only had this one a month. I hope to have it until one of us is dead.
