Default 05 sportsman 90 electric start issues, please help

I have an 05 sportsman 90 for my boys and I am having some starting issues that I really need some guidence on. When I try to start it using the electric start is turns over very slowly. Once turning over it will fire right up. I thought it was a bad battery so I replaced it with a brand new fully charged battery and it is still doing the same thing. the starter turns and grabbs just really slow like a low/bad battery. Also if I have a brake light bulb in, when the brakes are activated and the light is supposed to come on it kills the engine. If I take the bulb out no problems at all?? doesnt make sense to me. PLEASE HELP.......

A lot of times accumulated belt dust gums up the starter idle gear and shaft putting the starter under a load. Remove the clutch cover and blow the dust out. Even better if you have some contact/electrical spray cleaner to this area. Main items are #15 through #21. Thanks for the reply. Ok so I took the cover off and sprayed it all out with electrical contact cleaner. It was pretty dirty. I also too the starter off and cleaned the head of it. The starter had no free play in it and appeared ok. So after that I reassembled everything and no luck. Still cranks like a low/bad batter. My other suggestions on where to go and what to look for????

One other thing that could cause problems is compression. Must be at least 115 psi or more . If this is ok,then I'd remove the starter and test it with no load from the starter gears. If the starter ends up being the problem, they're fairly cheap here or on Ebay. DB Electrical - w Polaris ATV Starter Predator Sportsman Scrambler 90 & Outlaw 50
