Default Clutch cover swap

Need a clutch cover for my 1995 sportsman 400 and I was looking at new covers, I know of the 5433542 upgrade but that is still the poor flowing tight cover. Has anyone installed the 03+ setup onto the 2 strokes? Here is an example of the 2003+ setup, The drain plug is especially nice.

Better to use your existing backing plate as the holes are different on the later models and may not line up along with the engine seal that may not work. Just the newer cover alone will work(really need the newer intake snorkel also) OR you have to use like an old inner tube to transition from the bigger out let on the cover to your smaller air inlet duct. Plus there's usually one screw that won't line up in the new cover on the existing plate. OR you can simply get the updated stronger cover that actually fits your model with less trouble. #5433542.Dirt Cheap Yamaha, Honda, Arctic Cat & Polaris OEM Parts & Accessories – Cycle Parts Warehouse
