I have a 95 xplorer 400 2 stroke, just rebuilt the carb, and it seems to run fine except for a few things:
It uses lots of gas, it goes through 4 gallons after only about 20-30 minutes of riding.
It doesn't seem to be using any 2 stroke oil at all, I've went through probably 7 tanks of gas, and the oil level is still full.
It dies sometimes unexpectedly, and I just let it sit for a few minutes, and it starts right back up.
thanks for your help.

Several things to check. First off the oil injection system doesn't use a lot of oil if everything is right. One of the first questions people asked me when the 350 - 400 came out and noticed that the oil light hadn't come on and oil tanks still had plenty after about 4 or 5 tank fulls of gas. Plus before you do anything major, check the compression and also pull the oil pump cover and inspect the pump for any corrosion/rusted spring or frozen pump itself. If it runs a while then dies, usually a sign that at least a top end is needed as more than likely the cylinder is expanding when warmed up, rings loose their seal against the cylinder wall causing the engine to die. Will usually start back up when it cools back down.
