Default Tire and Wheel Combo

It's time for new tires for my 2008 Sportsman so I looked at a tire/wheel package deal online. The only steel wheels they offer are 12 x 7 front and rear. The wheels on it are 6" front and 8" rear. I assume the back space is the same. Has anyone ever ran the same rims front and rear? I hate to shell out $700 and have issues.

I should add that I plan on going 26x9 front and 26x11 rears.

That is what almost all aftermarket wheels are. No problems to worry about. They will also give you the 4+3 offset you need to be able to run your 9" tires up front. Both of my machines have 7" wide wheels at all four corners. They will make your atv about 2" wider overall. Still fit through 50" gates with no problem.

I got steel wheels when I replaced the 2006 Sportsman X2's tires. I had a problem with the width, personally. With the 9" front tires and the new offset the width was 51". I ended up using the stock rims with the new tires and had to use a spacer on the fronts to keep the tires from rubbing the tie rod ends. After all that the width was around 49 3/4".

Thanks, that's the info I was looking for. I was concerned about the added width.
