Magnum 500 + 27" tires.

I was thinking of getting a '00 Magnum 500, and putting 27" tri-claws on it, have any of you done this sort of thing? any clearance problems? How about power--notice much of a difference? did the change in ratio hurt your accleration?
Im the kind of rider who likes to go through the steep ditches, climb the steep hills, and go through the mud.
Ive just never had experience with the 500 at all (except for a scrambler) just looking for opinions!!
Thanks,
Billy Eldred

You will notice a difference. 27 inchers will make your acelleration a little slower, but the gain in traction and ground clearance is well worth it.
I beleive Vampires are better climbers than Bi and Tri-Claws, and they are a good bitt cheaper. I dought that Tri-Claws would fit on the front of a Magnum 500 any way, unles you use special wheels or spacers. Your best bet (in my oppion) Is to go with 27-10-12 Vampires on the front and 27-12-10 (if you want to put them on your stock wheels) or 27-12-12 for the rear.

Thanks for the info--does Interco (i think thats who makes them) have a web site, or somewhere that you can find a list of places that sell them?
I dont really want to buy them on-line cuz of high shipping charges-if i could just drive and get them, that would be better i think.
Thanks,
Billy

Both are made in Louisiana(my home state). Where else would you expect the 2 greatest mud tires in the world be mad?
Go to Highlifter.com, Ronnies.com, call Chaparral9there website sucks), call National Tire and Wheel (I think have the cheapest prices on Interco tires).
Don't think they have a site, but there is a site for the Bi and Tri-Claws. I don't know what it is though.

Interco has a site, but it's not worth going to. The Bi/Tri Claw site is, what else, but http://www.mudtires.com/
