Default Tire decision.

Anyone running Kenda Bearclaw HTR's? Like what I have heard about them.

Was thinking Maxxis Zillas, but I rarely run mud, may not see the benefit from them.

My friend has them, and likes them good do it all tire..
I had the Zilla and liked them on my last 350 Grizzly SRA. I found them a bit rough on the packed trails but they were 26" with the tall 1-3/13th" lug. Could of been because of the SRA part as well.

I may get them for my other 350 Grizzly but this time I will get the 25" Zillas with the shorter 3/4" lug to smoothen things out. Plus this 350 Grizzly has IRS to help out.

I just like the Zillas because they are the lightest 6ply tires made. 27" Zillas weigh as much as most other brands that are 25" if you look up the specs.

Here is a good site to get tire specs such as weight and lug height. http://www.mud-throwers.com/atv_mud_tires

Have about 3 guys I ride with that have them here in New England. They've all raved about them and I haven't seen anyone with them get stuck in the deep water/mudholes we have up here. Seem like a good all around tire.

I just notice the HTRs are 8ply. That's a bonus.http://www.mud-throwers.com/inc/sdetail/6599/49545

ive been running the zilla for a couple years now and love them for off road. many places where I used to need 4x4 I can now keep it in 4x2. They chew through the soft stuff. As for the road I'm not impressed at all. On an open county road (paved) they vibrate due to the lugs pretty badly IMO. Forget riding over about 25 mph. Feels like theyre going to shake the bike apart.. For the most part I love them but I ride 80 percent offroad 20 percent on road with maybe 10 percent of that being paved. If I rode on the roads more id definitely would look at radial.

Thank you so much. I would say 60-70% of my riding is roads, the rest off road. I plow in the winter, but I hear the Bearclaws do pretty good in snow too.

I have regular (non-radial) bearclaws on my 98 sporty, they wear very well on non-asphalt (don't know about asphalt as i don't go there), do Super great on mud (including cleaning themselves) and look very good too. I'm going for HTRs next set.
