Predator 500 "spare" wattage
#1
How many "spare" wattage do you have on a 2006 predator 500?
I mean for how much wattage can I install extra lights and stuff?
And is there any high output stator or some other way to get more wattage?

Alternator on the predator is 200W. You have about 100 chewed up in head/tail lights. The over temp, neutral and reverse lights are 1 each but you couldn't have all three on at once so max there is 2W. Then you have your ignition, ECU and charging requirements. I'd hazard to guess with everything in tip-top you would have 25 - 50W spare? Maybe. Not sure on any high-output stators, shop around for that one.
Good luck.
Good luck.

Thanks for the answer.
That's what I figured.
I guess it's impossible to get the predator to only use about 100W even if you change all the lights to leds?
This is also a registered one so it has turn signals and speedometer.
You can of course get led turn signals but I have no idea how much the speedometer uses.

If you changed your tail and headlight assemblies from their present total of 100W to LED units, you could well reduce that load to under 50W from what I am reading online. LEDs consome far less power than HIDs and Halogen bulbs.

Sounds good. Is there any "plug and play" led lights that fit into the stock headlight assemblies?
Does anyone have any clue how much wattage a digital speedometer uses?
This is a stock one that's on european models with km/h.
Don't know what kinda or if you even need to have a speedometer for road registered quads in the US.
