If you click on my link below and check out the album titled POLARIS ATVS, you will see 2 photos. I got these photos off of www.cpsc.gov. It was about polaris recalls.

IN THE PHOTOS THERE IS AN ODD OBJECT BETWEEN THE FRONT TIRE AND FENDER RESEMBLING AN ALUMINUM FRAME LIKE THAT USED IN DIRT BIKES. THESE PHOTOS HAVE NOT BEEN ALTERED BY ME IN ANY WAY(CHECK OUT THE WEBSITE). WHAT IS THIS OBJECT?

I believe what you see is the transluscent plastic vent that attaches to the bottom of engine. This vent works in conjuntion with the vent on the clutch cover to cool the clutches .

Yep, it is the same vent found on most Polaris quads. The one on my 2000 Blazer is black.

rick,
how come you cant see this vent in the catalog? Also, isnt this the space where the oil reservoir usually is? Just wondering.

The oil reservoir is there on the 4-strokes. The pics you posted are 2-strokes.
