Default sylinder boring question?

i was just wandering if I bore out one cylinder do i have to do the other cylinder as well on a two cylinder machine. sorry i know it is a newb question but i really dont know.

No, I had a twin cylinder snow mobile it blew a piston on one side only for some reason. I bored it out and went to a "one oversize" Wisco piston and left the other side alone and it ran greats for years.

it's like anything else, if you had one bad injector you don't replace all of them. only the one that doesn't work. on the other hand if your other cylinder has low compression, you might as well do both.

Just my two cents on this,if you have the cylinder off,replace both pistons and be done with it. You can patch one up and get by with especially on the old 2 strokes,but not so much on the newer twins whether it's a cast iron bore or Nikasil lined. To me it's like doing the pistons,gaskets and valves on half a V8 engine. It just places more strain on the other piston and rod with old and new mixed together.Maybe I was a mechanic too long...

yeah its for my older snowmobile i was running her yesterday and the motor froze up on me.

In my case the snowmobile had low miles it was just a bad piston and the skirt broke on one side maybe bad from the factory so it was why I did not bother doing both sides.

yeah my snowmobile only has about 1500-1750 miles on it can't remember the exact amount right now. but i know for a fact it isn't over 2000 miles.
