Default Used 500 x2 or 550 x2?

Looking at getting either one. Prefer the 550 in the xp chassis but wonder about engines since both are Fuji and Polaris has ended their relationship. Problems with the conventional mounted 500 may be better solved as there are a million of them around. Not so much with the 550. Comments?

Howdy luvthesnow....
I had a 2007 X2 with 4000 plus miles when I sold it. No problems at all. In my view I really liked the X2 with the 500 engine. The X2 with the 550 would be newer and the XP chassis is a better ride than my sold 2007 Sportsman. I have a 2012 Touring EPS with the 850 now and I really like the 850 motor. I never use all the power potential of the 850 but then again, I don't have to make an appointment to bring it up to speed.... The seats are way different too. Either way, the X2's both have the Turf mode....that part I miss.
Have you found a 500 and a 550 that you are deciding on...?

Yes, I want turf mode and the jump seat/box. Am looking at one of each, both high miles but mechanally sound, still look good, and a lot less $$. I won't be putting many miles on. With good maintenance, how many miles will these go engine wise? 6000+ on each.

I had 7000 miles on my last 550, engine was still solid but needed a bunch of suspension bushings replaced. Thats was it. That was a 2012, now have a 2014.

Thanks for that. Got the 550. 2010. Clean, runs great, nothing broken, but does need bushings which I knew it would. Will be making those myself.
