Default trailboss mystery

93 trailboss 250 this thing is crazy got it a couple years ago as a basket case rebuilt the motor while cleaning flywheel dropped it busted magnets found another one but did not pay attention it has no starter ring well could not return, ebayed one with ring. bike would not start pull or electric put no/ring flywheel on starts up but after a few heat cycles begins the rev up on its own sometimes death rev. track down bad (but new) crank seals and change those out again. so finally got tuned starts 1st or 2nd pull even after sitting a few weeks now i think is time to put electric start back on oh no this thing kicks back no matter where timing plate is dang it!!! put no/ring back on runs like a new one 1st pull.. after measuring all parts i can only find that e-start flywheel magnets are .035 longer total length but area not beveled seems to be same. so it will just be a pull star machine sorry just venting as this has been a true adventure

This kinda says it all for me.. I had many, many ones like this brought into the shop, that I sent right back out. Refused to touch em. Look at the bright side,at least it runs and you gained some experience.Sometimes you have to get stuck by thorns to get to the rose..
