As if attending a Mud National isn’t exciting enough to begin with, attendees of the High Lifter Mud Nationals coming up on March 25-29 2015 have a chance to win a Polaris RZR XP 1000 High Lifter Edition worth nearly $25-large: Your Chance to Win a High Lifter Edition Polaris RZR XP 1000 - ATVConnection.com |
If I won that $25K SxS, I would take the money and run!
That thing is going to drop in value like a rock! Won't be worth 10 large in 2 years. |
Nice, but I need one of those like I need a second wife.. If they gave you the option of cash or the machine,I'd run with the money too. It'd go along way on buying a new truck to replace old Betsy..Even after they hit me with taxes. :)

Yeah it'd be a great vehicle, for the right person. Wouldn't be for me either, sick as it looks :)

Why all the hate?
Is it the ATV vs Razr? or price? I used to have ATVs and sold them for the Razr. For us, it's more enjoyable. Would I like my ATV back, sometimes. I have to agree though, the 2 seater won't be worth much money. All they have in stock in dealers are the 2 seaters. The 4 seater is the way to go even if you don't have any friends. |
No hate,at least not from me. It was part of my bread and butter so to speak as we sold quite a few. :) It's the price that they've gone up to since they were first introduced.Went to the shop a while back and took off in a Desert Edition that retailed around $27,000. Different now since I've retired and away from most of it. If you've got the desire, cash, then go for it,but now I kinda look at 27,000 bucks as a good price for something with ac,heater, comfortable seats. In other words a good used car or truck. I guess it's like what old BB King said.. "The thrill is gone",at least for me. ;)

Yes $25k+ is getting pricey. I was surprised I paid $17k for my 900 used but the po put a ton of money into it.
Every personal situation is different. I see my wife smile everytime we go riding together so it's worth every penny to me and I get to have fun at the same time. |
Awesome looking rig but if I won it I'd sell it for whatever I could get and put it all in the bank (until my truck craps out on me). That would make a nice down payment on a new car or truck.
|
It would be cool to win it, but I'd sell and take the cash too, that would go a long way toward buying a different place to live. I entered a contest at Casey's to win a new Arctic Cat Prowler, I'd sell it too though its not valued quite as much as this Rzr.

Definately pricey but if you come out here, side X sides are everywhere. Supposedly our Polaris dealer is the #1 dealer in the country. New or used are selling fast this time of year. I sent 3 people there and they all bought the 1000 4 seater and by the time they were done with a few options and OTD, over $25k.
I might have a different outlook if I didn't have the option of driving down the road. It's like having an extra vehicle here. We have the option to get primarily off road plates for $4 a year and $25 for the off road decal. I can ride out my garage and into the desert and then stop for dinner. Legally we're supposed to be just going to the gas station or off road but the police don't bother anyone. Here we are at lunch in Williams, AZ Attachment 13701 |
Now that's a horse of a different color in your situation. Even I wouldn't mind going to town like that. Plus with all that desert you've got,the only ones to complain are the lizards and snakes. Might be able to do that in West Texas, but no where around here.Have to have a caution triangle on the back to go to the gas station for farm equipment. Plus the cops in the small town I live in are just itching to give some one a ticket..

The small town where i live does allow side by sides to be driven within city limits if they are registered at city hall. I only have my Rancher and they still don't allow atvs the same priviledges. They're limited to 20 mph within city limits but its still cool to be able to drive to the local Casey's and pull up to the pump and fill up I suppose.

I even had my ATV's licensed in AZ. It's quite a privilege how leniant they are here. I've even seen guys ride their razors down a 65 mph hwy but that's pushing it with the state police and non DOT approved tires. But with all that said, I agree that $25k for a 2 seater mudder would be hard to justify. Sure would be a blast though. |
I could get a nice used Jeep for that price with a 6 cylinder , windshield and wipers , heater, air conditioner and blue tooth and stereo.
And you drive it home not trailer it. http://max.leftlanenews.com/photos/c...nger-7_318.jpg |

Not sure what city you're in Illinois but I used to live in Mchenry on Chain o Lakes. There was no way I could ride my razr or atv on the road.

Your jeep won't have the stability at 70 mph in the sand dunes or other trail riding. Yes you can rock crawl along at 5 mph and hope you don't break anything in your stock jeep or scratch it. Kinda missing the point of the entire off road adventure. I could also buy a nice used corvette for that price but then again the speed limit is only 55 mph. I could also buy a nice used rv that has a stove and toilet. I could buy a nice used bass boat but I don't like to fish |
