Is the big boss dead?
#2
Dropped from the 2015 line up,but doesn't mean they can't come back if demand for them is strong enough.Only way for that is for people to contact their dealers and Polaris direct.Had it's purpose at least down here as a good work machine around the farm or ranch. A lot of em still plugging along. Think the Rangers are moving them out considering a 2015 Ranger 570 lists for the same price as the 2014 6x6 800,can carry two people easily and haul just as much or more.

I thought Polaris made a mistake dropping the Sportsman 800 as well. I guess they feel that the 570 makes enough power that customers would just buy it instead. If they want more, then they can get the 850 but that's a huge jump in price though, the non-eps 800 filled that price gap. Same goes for the Sportsman 400, the ETX with 125 less cc's would feel like a step down even if it claims to have almost as much power. The 400 was basically the same price too so its not like you're saving money.

I thought it might have had something to do with can am releasing their 6x6, even thought it's different price point, and I was hoping polaris saw the can am as motivation to improve the big boss. Another idea would be if they made the ace more friendly to enter and exit and threw a dump box on there and maybe a fifth and sixth wheel

Making the ace a 6x6 is not going to happen but it would be nice if they gave it real doors like on the Arctic Cat Wildcat Trail. I thought that part of the reason they built the ace was to make something easier to ride and making it easier to get into would make sense. I think they're optional but should be standard on any ace or any side by side for that matter. Who wants to pull down a cheap looking netting every time they get in instead of opening and closing a real door that actually provides some protection if you bang into something on the trail.

Oh, the Ace does have doors, but you have to buy the "sport" doors and lower "extension" set to get a complete door.To me it's trying to milk as much out of the consumer as possible, that is if someone is crazy enough to pay this much.. Won't be long before someone will come out with a good complete door that's a tad more reasonable,if they haven't already.Sport Doors | Polaris ATV Store Lower Door Extension | Polaris ACE Store

well if i bought any side by side, if it didn't come with door, I'd have to get them. And a winch too, that should almost be standard equipment as well. If you get an atv stuck, sometimes you can muscle it out. No such luck with a much heavier side by side or even an ace which is pretty heavy too.
