Belt Change

Not sure how Polaris does it but I am assuming things should be same as my Kawasaki. In my service manual they had specs on the drive belt, such as width and deflection tolerances. I would take the cover off and check the belt dimensions. At 1600 miles I went ahead and put on a new belt and saved the old one as a spare for an emergency. The old belt was still within specs but just barely. If your belt looks good and falls within specs you should be good to go. Might want to consider carrying a spare for that just incase moment.

It varies how far an original stock belt can go. If the machine was used for heavy work such as plowing snow or pulling heavy loads, the belt will have more wear. Around 5000km or just over 3000 miles is about an average belt life though. That's about the point they wore out on both Grizzly 660 quads I had. If you do replace it, put another oem belt on. Many aftermarket belts are cheaper but oem will last longer.
