Default Exhaust clean up????

Been doing some maintenance and clean up on my 400HO, and want to clean up the exhaust a little. Looked at getting it ceramic coated, $450. Not getting that done. MBRP makes a nice replacement muffler, but want to clean the pipe up.

Ideas? Sand and paint?

i used wire wheel/sandpaper then used high temp black paint. came out pretty good. ceramic is nice for keeping heat in pipes for better performance as well.

sandblaster...wipe well with denatured alcohol...then treat with etcher/phosphate...then coat...

My normal powder coating process...
