Default 03 sportsman 700 rebuilt motor "no spark"

I just rebuilt the 700 engine on my 03. Was doing test runs for a couple of days and it ran great. All of a sudden it died. It started right back up but died again. I got it to stay running long enough to park it and that was it. Now there is no spark. Ive read about the ignition upgrade but I notice that everyone who did the upgrade and it worked for them seemed to have a different symptom when theirs died out. Most seemed that their machine would shut down and it was done after that. I'm wondering if mine maybe something different since I was able to get it going a few times before it would start again.

If you haven't replaced the Ducati ignition,do it. Don't even try to second guess this crappy ignition system that can leave you stranded.

I have a 04 700 for a parts-bike I went to pull the coil off of it to see if that was the problem. I noticed it's ignition system is different. It looks like the upgraded system. I'm wondering if I take that whole system (from stator to the coil) off of the 04, would it work and plug into my 03. I'm guessing that the difference between the early 04 and late 04 models.

Need the stator, flywheel, cdi, coil, regulator and the jumper wires from the 04 to make your 03 work. Several videos on this installation.

If it's still got the Ducati ignition I don't need to see a video on how it's acting up.. I know how they did because I changed so blamed many of them over the years. Some would be hard starting, some drank the gas, some wouldn't idle, some would idle good but wouldn't accelerate, some would die when hot and cranked back up when cooled down. Some people even killed them, walked away for a while and when they returned the blamed things wouldn't start..

Thanks for the help. I'll let everyone know how it works out. After I get another 500$ dumped into this thing. It'll be worth it though.

Did look at your video. Need to keep the air box lid on,the K&N cleaned and oiled because all Polaris models are jetted for a closed air box.
