WHICH IS BEST[VAMPIRES OR MUDRUNNER
#3
Well it came down to these same two kinds of tires for me to decide, I decided on the Vampires--they should be here thursday.
The reason for that decision on my part, that i was spending the money to get more traction- and from people that ive talked to, and from what ive seen, for the most part-the Vamps give you more of an edge--although the MudRunners would probably be a better overall tire. I cant say for sure, cuz ive never owned either.

I’ve owned both and have to agree with the latest mud tire shootout in ATV Magazine (excellent article and issue, BTW). Vamps rule in pure mud riding but the Mud Runners aren’t far behind in that category and perform better all around. There’s no mystery to it. If you buy a really nice guttin’ knife it will perform beautifully for that task but will make a lousy screwdriver. Buy a Leatherman and you can gut a deer with it, and you can drive a screw but it won’t do either as well as a tool designed for a singular purpose. If you’re not in mud more than 50% of the time (that’s a lot of mud!) then don’t buy the Vamps. They are an excellent mud tire, not an all purpose tire.

I've owned both tires.I was really displeased that the MudRunners were not included in the latest Dirt wheels mud shoot out.I later find out that Goodyear is not a sponser of Dirtwheels,so therefore DW could care less about adding them to the shootout. The vampires dont ride nearly as bad as some people say they do,and the mud runners are equally as good in the mud as the vampires. The vamps ride slightly rougher on hardpack,I'd buy either tire.Thats my story and im sticking to it.BILL----
