These older models used mostly Sachs hydraulic shocks. These are fairly cheap on ebay,Mfg supply, etc.Polaris Sportsman 500 4x4, 1996 1997 1998, Front Hyd Shocks / Struts - PAIR | eBay Or you can jump up to the newer replacement shocks but more expensive.99-09 NEW POLARIS ATV MAGNUM WORKER 325 330 500 FRONT SHOCK STRUT DD | eBay You might also consider heavy duty springs.https://epiperformance.com/front-455/ Bronco makes some front shocks for these also but haven't heard much about them.

Thanks for reply Old Polaris tech, the first ones you mentioned were the ones I was looking at on eBay, but don't know if hydraulic or gas would be better, I am going to use a plow this winter, also was looking at the bronco ones that were spring shock combo, but you haven't heard much on them you say. Well decisions , decisions. Thanks again for your response it is appreciated.

If the cheap Sachs have lasted this long,I'd just get another set.Money you can save or go towards heavier duty springs as an option.
