Default 400L counter balance question

Hi. New here. New to ATV's
My son and I are working on a 1994 he bought with a blown engine. Starting the reassembly now.
It seems the counterbalance cavity where the actual counter balance is, could easily get oil in it. oil (10 w30) From where the counter balance gear runs. I don't see any seals.
Is this true? If the counter balance cavity filled with oil that seems like it would be a problem.
Just curious.

Counter balancer cavity only holds about 100ccs of oil. It lubricate the crank sprocket, counter balancer gear, water pump bearing, large and small bearing on counter balancer. Also lubricate the worm gear on the oil pump. Quite a few things this small amount of oil has to lubricate. Seal in the outer cover and the crank shaft seal keep the oil in the cavity. Two seals part#36.
