400 Scrambler awd problem
#1
I had a post here about my dealer, and explained about my problem. I have since called the dealer and no surprise he said the machine was working when I picked it up, and he couldn't guarantee the work would be warranty. So I decided to check it out. I jacked up the front and rear and put it in gear, the front hubs, either side did not engage. I put on AWD, both front hubs engaged and spun. I turned off AWD, both hubs stopped turning, but the left side would not turn backwards, the right side would. The left side would turn forward, but when I tried turning it backwards, it would lock up solid with the axle. I don't know if this is caused by the hub or what, but I'm assuming so.
My next question is about the calipers. The bolts that hold the caliper on go through the struts, and into a bracket which has the rods that go into the calipers. On the right side, the caliper bracket is larger on the top with a hole in it. On the left side, the larger side is on the bottom. I am only concerned about this since the left side is the side where one of the bolts holding the caliper on came out the other day, and when I went to put a new bolt in, the rod on the bracket hits the rotor. That's when I compared the left side to the right side and noticed the difference. Is it possible the dealer put the wrong caliper bracket on the left side? Remember, this dealer rebuilt my quad after I rolled it down a hill. Any help anyone can give me will be greatly appreciated.
P.S.: I am not afraid to rip this thing apart, but would like to buy a svc. manual, where do I get one?
