Default Engine switch

Hi there got a long winded situation I need help with please, I have a 93 sportsman 350 2 stroke and a 96 sportsman 400 2 stroke well the 350 was blown but bike was like new so I put the 400 engine from the 96 in the 93 I also switched the CDI box, regulator and ETC module because stator wires were different and it fired right up and purrs like a kitten then I noticed antifreeze on the ground I got underneath bike and saw epoxy where someone had patched some cracks in the engine case my question is can i use the 350 case and just swap the internal parts from the 400 basically are the 350L and 400L engine cases the same? This is the first atv I've ever worked on but I do enjoy working on small engines lawnmowers, tillers etc any help would be much appreciated

This is from Rick Ritter that works on these on a daily basis as I never checked myself.

"The stroke is the same . The gasket is different . A 400 jug will not fit a 350 lower end ."
