Battery seems fine has tons of power to crank it over before it dies and I keep it on a battery maintainer. Black wire on the cdi has been unplugged the whole time.

 

Then I'd think it's narrowed down to either the pick up coil,stator itself or a cdi problem since the battery cable came loose even if these parts were new. When this happens pull the plug cap,have another plug to check if it has spark when grounded to the cylinder.If it still has spark,then could be carb or fuel related.You just have to eliminate one section at a time.Hard for anyone to diagnose problems over the internet. That's where the manual comes in.
