Update on TB pipes
#1
If you read my earlier post on Trail Blazer pipes there are a couple of things I forgot to mention.
1. The Hot Seat pipe rides against the black plastic and melts it. It also pushes down tight against the pull start handle. The RCR while tougher to install so it doesn't leak can be positioned so it touches nothing.
2. A call to Hot Seat and Rob/Rod (can't remember which) says to trim the plastic and not to worry about the rubber handle, it won't melt.
3. The rubber handle has melted some and the pipe rest low enough it sets on the portion that keeps water and grit out of the pull start mechanism. We are keeping an eye on this to see if it melts through.
4. Prior to purchase this same individual at Hot Seat was asked if we could swap springs (mainly we were concerned with the primary) if we didn't like where it engages. He said it would not be a problem. Now that we want to use one with higher engagement his response is "That is what comes with our kit". When reminded he said he would swap out with us he doesn't recall that part of the conversation. Take it for what you will.
Scott.
