Default O-ring versus non O-ring chain

The sprocket on one of the trail bosses I bought is getting pretty worn so I decided to look at chain and sprocket sets to freshen it up. I know the oem setup uses an o-ring chain but when I looked up applications, I see a lot of non O-ring chains available. I know the o-ring chain is better for lubrication but what purpose is there for non o-ring Have other than bwing cheaper? Would tgey even hold up to trail riding?

Thanks,
Mike

Almost as bad as what brand oil to use. Plenty of differing opinions.. Just my two cents o-ring chains last longer, keep a lot of dirt from getting inside the rollers the main wear point and which eats up non o-ring chains faster.Yes non o-ring chains are cheaper, but you really have to keep them cleaned more often than any o-ring chain. You get what you pay for.
