"help" 02 scrambler 400 4x4
#1
So I bought a 02' scrambler and from the beginning never had good take off power. once rev'd up has lots of power, but from take off kind of puts so you have to really give it to take off. well I recently wrecked it into a ditch and luckily it landed on its side with the exhaust up so no water got in. we pulled it out and starts right up. now the problem which I think must be electrical cause it was battery side down. when I put it in drive the reverse light comes on and now really sputters and wont take off unless I hold the overdrive button which ive only had to use for reverse. can somebody please give me some pointers. I really cleaned it up, cleaned out the carb, disconnected the battery to see if it would reset somehow and still shows reverse in drive. ive been searching the web and maybe looking into the ecm or cdi box.. idk

2001 had the 4x4,2002 Scrambler 400 was the last year made and 2 wheel drive. Either way a worn belt or clutches could have been part of the power problem especially if didn't have low end power but would run ok as the rpms increased. As far as what the display shows, pull all the connections that may have gotten wet, clean and use some electrical grease. Plus not a bad idea to pull the black wire from the reverse limiter (#28) as that will give you full power in reverse and eliminate having to push the over ride button. That may solve that problem.
