looks good. I bought a galvanized 3 place, 101"x12' and like it for short trips around new england. Not so much across country. Even with a heavier axle it sways a bit. How much weight does that trailer hold with the torsion axle?
3000#
I got this trailer from my boss, and have used it a lot before. It's been a great trailer, and really pulls nice with 3 quads on it.
Glad it pulls well. One of our group bought a 4 place snowmobile trailer and we worked on it to get it ready for a trip out to Utah. Replaced the decking, re-did the lights, got new tires and a couple spares. Only thing that we didn't tear apart is the surge brakes because they seemed to be working fine after a good long test run. About 1 hour into our 2016 trip the left rear wheel locked up and twisted the axle off (the other thing we didn't tear into). This is a two axle trailer. Ended up taking my 3 place trailer that didn't have great tires on it. Had a blow out in Western Pennsylvania so we were running on a poor spare and a tire that was pretty worn. Took us a bunch of stops along the highway to find a couple new tires..... So, for the 2018 trip I kept hounding the guy to get the brakes fixed. (We replaced the axles). He never got it done in time even though I kept asking and offering help for the months leading up to the trip. So, again, he didn't get to ride his quad out in Utah. 3 of the 4 drove out and he flew so his quad got to stay home. This time one of my trailer rims broke off leaving only the part of the hub that you bolt through. So, the moral of the story is check everything out.
Ouch. Nothing worse than breakdowns when all you want to do is get there, and ride!
I pulled it 3 hours this weekend. Took the wife's Acadia, because my truck needs exhaust work, and it drove like a dream.
Now, my straps on the other hand, those sucked. Had to stop 3 times to reattach on the one machine. I didn't have it quite centered over the tie down, so the strap kept creeping towards the sharp metal edge by the loop on the front of her 450, and cutting it.
Needless to say, I will be finding a better set of straps, as those were getting a little old, and will be getting the bike centered over that tie down better.
The 570 got some new add ons.
Put a 3500# KFI stealth assassin winch on.
Got a new bag. This thing is big, and really well built.
For some tunes, I put some JBL flip 4 bluetooth speakers on, and a switch to control them from the handlebars.
Also an aluminum throttle lever. Matches the paint perfectly.
I have a rear rack extender to put on today. I believe the next mod will be some bigger, more aggressive tires.
