Around the pins to cut down on corrosion. Rubber surround keeps a lot of moisture out but not all. Same for the connectors on the left control switch,cdi,coil and anything else that you might think would get water or moisture in. Same for the recoil cover as that's another place for water entry.Good rtv sealant for it. Plus you can use rtv on the rope handle to the nipple. Easy to break loose if you need it. The factory really didn't have water proofing in mind when they built these machines.
