Default Antifreeze

Hello,

Its been awhile. I was just curious what is recommended for radiator fluid? Can I use any non-Polaris brands?

Thanks,

Okay thanks OPT. No concern adding to whats there or do I need to drain old first? I assume I add at the top not the white reservoir on the bottom left. I read some confusing text about air bubbles leaving the top off, start it until bottom reservoir fills , add more between fill lines then finally cap it?

Seems dangerous, leary about not caping the top after fill. Dont want antifreeze exploding up in my face or eyes, lol..lol...maybe Im too cautious?

Thx,

R'

Just drain the radiator by opening the valve, plus pull the bottom radiator hose leading to the water pump. You can flush the system with water by hooking the bottom hose back up,fill the radiator with water crank it up and leave a hose running slowly in the radiator while the drain is open.Let it flow out for a few minutes and remove the lower hose again to flush the water out. Tighten drain valve, replace the hose and fill the radiator with coolant. Have the front wheels off the ground a little to aid in removing trapped air. Run the engine(cap off) until the fan cycles on. Radiator level should drop. Top off radiator and let the fan cycle a couple times. This should be enough in most cases to remove any air pockets. Top off radiator, replace the cap and fill the over flow bottle to the full mark. Test ride to make sure the fan kicks on and off and no hot light.

If the fluid is still good and there's no crud in the radiator you can just top it off.

Unscrews.. If it's tight use some channel locks.
