Both gear cases with adc and without were used that same year. The one without the adc was 1332578 like this one.https://www.ebay.com/itm/07-2010-Spo...Ba1aXb&vxp=mtr I think even this part number has been updated but Shows it can fit from 2007-2010 models. Here's the breakdown on the gear cases from Partzilla. Models built before 7/17/06 and after were the adc ones. The ones that showed before and after 7/24/06 were without the adc if I remember correctly.Other models may fit also.https://www.partzilla.com/catalog/po...n50af-an-at-ay

Yes it appears that you can. Don't think the driveshafts would be a problem either on either model.2005 gear cases do show different part number drive shafts, but don't know how much of a difference that would make.

Then you'd be back to the same adc gear case that you have now in the 2007 500 that you want to get away from.. Both show the same part number. https://www.partzilla.com/catalog/po...rcase-mounting
https://www.partzilla.com/catalog/po...earcase1332568 A 2006 and below gearcase possibly would work, but I'm not sure on the driveshafts being a problem or not as I mentioned before. The mounting part isn't the problem. 4 bolts to hold the gear case in place on all of them.
