Arrow Phoenix 200, vacuum hose - where to?

Hi all, what a wonderful source of information this appears to be

I've recently bought a -07 Polaris Phoenix 200 and took it apart for maintenance.

While doing so I noticed that there appears to be a vacuum hose missing (part nr 47 in this link https://www.babbittsonline.com/oempa...-cylinder-head ). No worries, I think the hose is easily replaced. But - where does it connect on the engine?? I've been searching the engine for possible connections - but with absolutely no luck. Is it "just" an air intake for the ASM valve? If so, why do the exploded view indicate that there is supposed to be a hose connected to it? The funny thing is that I can not find this part at all (part 44, same link as above) when searching an exploded view for the -07 - but lo and behold, it is obviously there on mine. I've tried to just block the hole where the hose is supposed to attach when on idle, has no effect what so ever..

I do also have a problem with the machine stalling and being unable to restart sometimes when getting hot. Waiting for 20-30 minutes makes it startable again, hence the disassembling and maintenance. New fuel lines, fuel valve (without reserve), new fuel filter, new spark plug, oil change, valve adjustment - all is en route. Anything else I should be aware of regarding mentioned malfunction. Someone mentioned adding fuel additive on these - but I'm not very fond of the idea not beeing able to use standard 95 octane fuel without being forced to mess around with additives. But on the other hand, if that what it takes so fine then.. Thoughts on that?
Since it's only happening when it's warm it really don't appear to me to be a culprit in the fuel line, but easy and cheep to change so better safe than sorry. Perhaps a weak spark plug would cause such problems?

Anyway, first thing first - if anyone could help med with the vacuum hose I would really appreciate it. If anyone could give me advice about the stalling problem, that would of course be as much appreciated.

Greetings from a warm and sunny Sweden

Hello and welcome to the forum. I only knew one person with a Phoenix and know little about them. It says it's a vacuum hose from the engine, so it has to attach to the engine somewhere, probably the crankcase. I don't know if it's causing the stalling problem, but would try to get that fixed first and see.

Hi, thanks.
My thought as well. BUT - hardly impossible to find a matching connection for it.. And since it is a filter inside the valve perhaps its just some kind of a breather. That still don't explain the part in the schematics thou. The hose. AND, in the schematics for -07 I can't even find the ASM valve. Hmm.

Also strange that in the schematics, as you can see, there is two connections on the valve, but only one hose. I have today one hose attached between ASM and the other valve, but the other one is empty.. Doesn't seem to affect perfomance, but it's like having a bolt left when the engine is assembled

Several years ago, my daughter's 2006 Sawtooth was doing the same thing. I found that if I drained the carb bowl after it stalled, I could get it to start on the trail. I looked into stock jetting and found at the dealer the jetting was way off even though my manual stated what was in the machine since new. I ended up jetting according to the dealer and fine-tuned from there. I believed I went a little smaller than the dealer stated on the pilot jet. I still have the machine and it runs better today than when new.
