Default Need some suggestions

89 Trail Boss. So far I have replaced secondary coil, CDI box, rebuilt original carb and finally just installed a new carb last night. Disconnected reverse limiter switch black wire. On old carb I managed to get bike to start for about 20 seconds on full throttle and it died Nothing since than. After taking old car apart twice I decided to get a new one. New one will not fire up at all. I have not tested compression yet for lack of compression tester. Spark appears ok but I am wondering if weak. Looking for any suggestions where to go next. Main coil? Fuel pump? Any help is greatly appreciated

Drain the crankcase. Use a 10mm socket and there is a drain bolt in the very bottom of the crankcase, sits at an angle. Once you get the bolt out, insert something with a small diameter to verify the hole is clear(wire tie or something) If fuel comes out, it was flooded. Replace the plug and try starting again.

Compression test would be nice to know it showed.

That motor also had issues with base gaskets going out and crank seals going bad.
