Predetor 50 compression issues
#1
Hey all, I’m having an issue with a friend of mines grandkids scrambler 50. He said it died and wouldn’t restart. I cleaned carb and changed plug got it going. But the throttle does nothing when pressed then eventually dies. So I checked compression and only read 30lbs. So I went ahead and tore it down and found the cylinder and piston were both scored. I replaced the cylinder and piston with new rings and all the gaskets including crank case seals. It still has 30lbs of compression. So I ordered another piston and jug kit just incase as well as new reed valve. Still has bad compression. I’ve tried 2 different compression testers and still very low and won’t get over 35lbs. Am I missing something? The only part I haven’t replaced is the head but it checked fine. I’m really stumped here. I’ve tried to test using electric start and kick while holding throttle wide open. Any help is appreciated
