Default 2002 Polaris Ranger 500 carb rebuild no start.

Hello gang, I'm helping a neighbor with his Ranger that the carb was just rebuilt. We have new gas, filters, lines and gas is in the fuel bowl but seems like it isn't getn any fuel. The fuel jet is 2 turns from bottom and still not starting. It has spark and even with ether it won't fire. Any guidance or tips would be greatly appreciated. Willie

Try new plugs. It sounds like it might be flooded. Spraying ether in a flooded engine will only flood it worse. First guess off the top of my head anyway.

It's got a new plug gapped at.028 and good spark. I removed the plug and yes it was flooded. Seems it's getting too much fuel upon checking again. On the diaphragm, if the c clip is not on the correct notch, will this affect it not starting? I'm not a carb guy, Fuel injection is easier to diagnose. Thanks for your help so far.

Could be a few things causing it to flood.
Float set properly?
Needle and seat good and stopping fuel flow?
Carb adjusted per manual?
Im not sure but i think your needle has 4 notches. If so i would put it where it was and if the original position is not known i would start with the clip in the third notch down position.
Carbs need to be CLEAN! make double sure it is clean and you have a good filter. A very small particle stuck in the needle seat will cause it to flood.
