Default 2006 Polaris Sportsman 800 EFI Dual Exhaust shifting and driving issues

Hey guys I am new to this forum but have used it multiple times. I recently bought a polaris sportsman and I am having issues with shifting it. When the machine is off, it shifts normally without effort but only shifts into low neutral, and reverse. I believe I have two separate issues but im not sure. I went through the codes on the display and it stated 45 and 41, I would not think those are related. Any info would be appreciated and feel free to ask more questions. Thank you in advance.

welcome to the forum. describe the shifting issue. is it grinding trying to go into gear? does the machine try to creep when it's in gear? if these are the case then i would say it's the ebs one way bushing that is gone bad in the primary. sorry i can not remember what the codes means. i owned mine 14 years ago.

it doesn’t grind it just needs a lot of effort to get it in gear and it only shifts into low and reverse when the shift lever states there is high and park to either side of low and reverse.

Push the foot brake down when shifting into park or high gear.
Many things can cause hard shifting. Take the belt cover off and start it. Does the driven clutch spin when the machine is idling?
