Have any of you heard how good this really is? Have you seen anyone with it? It sounds pretty nice. Does the reed-valve conversion come with it? If it doesn't then I wanna know how much HP the race mod will be with the reeds. This seems like a pretty good deal, but I don't know if it is worth the money for only 5 more HP. Tell me what you guys think about this kit.

I have the race mods but not the reedcage conversion. The hp of the race mode is 38hp an the stock hp is 22. It dose work good an you can feel the power.I have ran mine in 2 races so far an it is awsume compared to before

I just got the new catalog from HPD and they have a race mod for the TBlazer (no reed conv.) which includes porting, head work, carb, pipe, and clutch kit (100 octane fuel required) all for $800

That is not a bad price.

Blazer250,

If you don't have a pipe, I doubt if the reed cage conversion would even boost power that much. The numbers were probably taken from a modified motor, with the 35mm carb and pipe, porting and head mods. I'm kind of cautious about the race porting and head mods. I wouldn't like to run 100 octane all the time. Things could get expensive really quick running $4-5 a gallon race gas in a machine for the trails.

Is the porting and head work done by hpd and all the install done by the owner?

Not sure on that. But would assume so. Probably have to send cylinder and head to HPD and then install all yourself for that price .

Not hard to bolt on and off parts anyway

I meant that it only gives you 5 HP over having just a pipe.
