Hey guys i have an 06 sportsman 800 efi and I need a new shifter linkage. the kids I bought the ATV from destroyed it and I'm trying to repair it. I ordered a used linkage off of ebay and I'm not sure if I'm crazy, but i cant install it due to the exhaust being in the way. I can't connect it from the back side or on the front side of the exhaust.

Are there different shifter linkages for my year?

i bought one that's a straight bar with movable sockets on the end that are supposed to bolt through the shift lever and the bellcase lever.
