If the power goes out on scrambler
#1
I started my 99 Scrambler 500 and the lights didn't work, I flipped the lights on and off and nothing happened, so I checked the run switch and I barely touched it and the lights came on. So if your lights or AWD quit working check the run/start switch it might need touched. I had this same problem with my 97 Sportsman 500 but it would lose all power when the key barely moved. It is amazing how the atvs will lose all power to all accessories (winch, lights,AWD) and keep running with just a hair movement in the run switch or key. If this happens check these 2 places first.

hey guys, don't know if you read tyhe posting a few weeks ago. someone had the same problem. they found that by having any kind of weight hanging from your key, keychain, other keys, etc. it was enough to move the key switch back and shut the utilities off. hmmm, sounds like something polaris should look into. maybe already have with the new models. i am sure cleaning the switches could have alot to do with it. the contacts might be all dirty

HEY GUYS you are fogetin' somethin' YOUR FAN RUNS OFF THAT SWITCH TOO .I just rebult a 99 sport for a fella who over heated his engine When I tore it down to find out why it melted the piston. I discoverd that the starter switch had a bad contact and the head light was'nt workin'I checked all the circuts and found that if the lights dont come on the fan won't come on and unless you are driving at a easy steady speed it will over heat. Then you'll be bringin'it in for a new piston , jug , Maybey even a bottom end . for the time it takes, take the switch off clean it use a good water profing grease and save your self a rebuld .....hardlydangerous1@yahoo.com
