100 hours or 500 miles and then change your oil. You are 100 miles over the limit! Now drop and give me 20 BOOT!

Regular service 1,000 miles or 100 hours.

Your lucky you live in another state or I'd pull your H.O. patch for quad abuse.

BTW my quad now has 2,300 miles with NO oil consumption problems.

Back off MISTER,
You assumed I have never changed the oil. First change was at 10 hours. Second change was at 25 hours done at dealer to keep warranty happy.
Now answer the question or you will drop and give me 50.
Actually I am not sure what the usage is because when I did check after the dealer had it, many miles later, I found out that they only put in 1 qt. OUCH!.I added 1 qt+. I has dropped a little since then.
Thanks
Al

Your dealer needs a good swift kick in the A$$.

I have never seen a 500 or 500HO burn oil. Make sure there is 2 quarts put back in to the machine after an oil change.

I have had many bad dealers in my time but the single biggest issue has been related to oil. The only time the dealer sees me is when I can't fix it myself and when the problem is covered under the extended warranty.

You do know how to change your own oil right?

Now save the drama for your mama and start pushing. You owe me another 50 for driving a quart low. ;-)

Hey WEETOOTS,
I know how you feel. I took mine into the dealer for the same reason, they claimed they had to do a service at 20 hours, or the warranty could be voided.. I got it back, I went and road.. It just came from the dealer.. I check the oil the next week before we ride, and it's about 1/2 qt. low...
I don't know if they left it low, or it burn't it.. I'm not sure exactly how long it takes to break it in.. It really depends on how its rode..
If yours is still burning it with over 100 hours on it, I'd take it to them.. But I would give it some time..
I work on Diesels in trucks.. All the engine manufacturers, Detroit, CAT, & Cummins say they run up to 60,000 miles, before the rings seat and they stop burning oil...
Good Luck to you.

My mechanic told me the 500 motors losen up after about 2,000 miles. Remember the Polaris oil is a full synthetic not dinosour juice thus taking longer to seat valves and rings.

Watching BootCamp? Heck, I lived through the best.
Now you drop and give us 100 for watching goofy TV shows. Man, I love those D.I.'s.
Thanks for the replys.

This boot reports no oil consumption at all, Sir.

Oil changed at 200 miles, 20 hours, 50 hours and 100 hours.

If oil consumption on my atv were a problem I would report it to my dealer in an efficient, orderly, atv manner. Sir!

P.S. 0W-30 oil (Polaris requirement) is now available at Walmart from Mobil 1. The days of paying $5.49 for Polaris oil are now over.
