I never thought of that theory Thor! Here's a couple counter-points I can think of: The machine does the same bogging even with the belt removed. That would eliminate the secondary clutch. I am pretty sure the primary clutch spring is good also. I had to replace the brushes on the starter and removing the whole clutch assembly is the easiest way to get to the starter. Thanks for theory. I'm taking ANY suggestions now. Anybody think a headlight bulb would be burnt out and causing this problem!??[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-tongue.gif[/img]

You need to make sure the pilot circuit in the carb is also clean we soak them for a couple of hours usually, compressed air will not clean out the passages, remove the pilot jet and air/fuel screw and spray carb clean and make sure the cleaner is coming out all of the pilot circuit passages. Then blow out the pilot circuit with compressed air. If that doesnt work take it to your dealership and have them dip it for you.
