I was out riding Memorial weekend and busted my chain going over a submerged log in a creek.
Since I have to replace it, i was wondering what would be a real strong and reliable chain. Has anyone bought one of the X-ring chains?? Is it over kill to buy an expensive chain, if I am also going to buy a chain tensioner??
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Scrambler

Scrambler,

No, it isn't over kill to want the best chain possible for your machine. I have one of the X-ring chains you mentioned and they wear normally like every other chain I've had. The increased benefit of the X ring chain over the O ring chain is the assurance that dirt won't get past the two levels of protection the X ring chain has to offer. Your best bet would be to get one with the highest tensile strength available.
