what is the deal with the smilley faces? How do you get one on your replies?

I think boner would tell you faster than Andy. Andy was asking the same question a few weeks ago.

 

They are an interpretation of emoticons, the little puncuation things people put at the end of a sentence to show emotion. To get a smiley face type a colon ":" followed imediately by a right parentheses ")".

To get a winking smiley type a semicolon ";" followed by a right parentheses ")".

Others use different combinations

Take out the space inside the quotes to make it work. Try them out and see what you get.
