I have a new 500 HO and was out this weekend and had the speedo pegged at 60mpr. After running wide open for about 60 seconds the throttle started to cut out. I let off the trottle for awhile and running at 60 mph again and it did the same thing. any suggestions??

I am going to make an educated guess. It is probably the ETC (electronic throttle control). The ETC is designed to cut out the machine in the event of a stuck throttle. I do not know how to adjust it, but as your machine is still under warranty, I would take it back and have them adjust it for you. Hope this helps.

Thanks for the information on the ETC control. The only problem is that my machine is out of warranty so I have to figure this one out myself or pay the big bucks. Anybody know how to adjust the ETC control?

Now is the time to seriously consider buying the service manual for your machine. They costs between $45-$55 dollars and you can get them from your dealer. The way I look at it, if it saves me at least one hour of labor at the dealer, then it paid for itself. Anyhow, you will feel more comfortable working on the machine knowing that you have the correct information.

My dealer sells them for $29.95 plus shipping. Call 952-884-2111
and ask for Lindsey.

when your fliyng it, rev it betwenn 3/4 and full, youll keep your speed, and it wont cut off

If I go back down to 3/4 throttle and back to full throttle sometimes it would work ok. We had been running about 2 hours into the day and the temp was hot out. I have changed the fuel filter, spark plug, and all fluids. I was surprised the plug came out pretty black.
