Dave heider has been racing a Modified Scrambler in the GNCC Races for a few years now. He races the Open modified class. HPD built a frame based somewhat on the 250R. They are running 250R A-Arms and other components. But the motor and plastic are all totally Polaris Scrambler. Last year sometime I don't remember when but I think dirtwheels or ATV Sport did a review on his tricked out Machine.

I am pretty sure it is a 500 Scrambler instead of a 400. If I am talking about the same machine as you, it is bored to a 628cc by 4-stroke tech. I remember talking about this machine a couple months ago. I wondered why they wouldn't chose a 400 over a 500 because the 400 would make more power, but the 4 stroke would be easier to ride in the woods. yes it is HPD's race chassis. Polaris Engine, clutch, and plastic. Still, very far from stock. I'm guessing it would take roughly 13 grand to build the machine that is being raced in the GNCC. Anyways, way to go for those that are taking a Polaris to the race level!!!

Kukerdan did you read it carefully "NOTE BANSHEES EATING DUST", that only tells me one thing...polaris aftermarket campanies are starting to see the full potential of the 400cc 2 stroke powerplant. Companies like HPD have made it possible to modify the 400 to push out up to 75 horsepower and up to 100+ with NOS' bolt on nitrus kit.
