Has anyone put a 01 SP HO steering stem bearing on a pre 2000 sportsmen? The 2001 HO sure steers easier.

It is possible, however it is probably not worth the time or money to do it. I shouldn't say that, anything worth it if you want it to be. But you will need the new steering post, do some cutting on the support for the frame. I haven't checked hieghth of that cross member but I believe it is the same. Anyway you will have some money and time involved in it.
