How would I go about hooking up an automotive tach on my machine? is there a special brand of tach that i must use or will any of them work?
What wires do I hook up where? Will this type of setup be as accurate as a regular 2-stroke tach? Or must I spend the extra money to get accuracy?

Thanks for the help

just today, i bought a tach for my 99 scrambler 400. it is a TINY TACK. it cost 57 dollars and is specific to a single cylinder two-stroke engine. a four-stroke tach won't work because a 4-stroke fires every other revolution of the crank, while a 2-stroke fires every time the piston comes to top dead center. check with your local motorcycle/atv accessory shop.
