I mean "fools" in a good way of course.

Have you ever raced a 440ex, or a 505ex? What were the results? I was told on the Honda forum that the 440ex could beat a HPD Race Modded Scrambler. For some reason I just can't believe it. Thanks guys.

Piranha,

Don't believe what those "glue sniffers" on the Honda forum are saying. The 440 EX is barely faster than a stock Banshee, let alone a modified one, which most of us "fools" can easily beat.

I have a 65hp Scam 400 and I have drag raced EX's with the 440 kit, and they do not even have a chance. I really can't see the 505 kit helping much, its just gonna be a slug, with some more torque.

someone doesn't know what they're talking about. a 440 barely beating a stock banshee! i hate to break to it to you but.. no. a 440 will stomp a stock banshee. go ask any stock banshee owner. a 505 a real slug? you're calling a quad that is nearly 200 pounds lighter than yours a SLUG?
glue sniffing honda guys huh? we're all in the same sport here. i don't think we act like this in the real world when we are out riding. its all about the fun and who makes it there first(sometimes)

"...you're calling a quad that is nearly 200 pounds lighter than yours a SLUG?"

Is you ATV 200lbs? Because if mine weighs in at 400, your's must only be 200lbs.

Your overgrown 300EX is a slug compared to a full race 72HP 400L. Now it may handle and jump better, but were talking straight line, flat out top end running here.

It matters not the weight alone of a machine or it's HP numbers, but it's HP to weight ratio. Take my 70HP, 400LB machine and compare the HP/weight ratio of your machine. Now who do you think is faster?

Look at my page and you will see be running dead even with a CT racing 330R. Check back in the fall, I'll have updated pics after a trip to Glamis on Halloween.

I could beat a 505cc Honda 400ex with a DEAD STOCK 250 Trailblazer with 1 flat tire...
Either a 200 foot race from a dead engine ( engine off )start with the battery disconnected or a 200 foot race up a moderate hill in REVERSE...

Sun Tsu said: Always use every advantage... Strike when the opponent is weak... Pretty smart for an old guy.
No back up starter on the 400 EX... What were they thinking...
You can't have a "High Performance" quad without a kickstarter...

I've got a 440EX, cammed and ported and 400 Sport with a race motor. Even though the Sport is not tuned in right at this time, it will stomp my 440EX start to finish in a drag race no questions asked. I've spent about the same amount of money on both, I gained 12-15 hp on the 440, and about 35 or so hp on the Sport not counting the alcohol factor. Don't get me wrong I love my 440 and prefer riding it over the Sport but when the dragging starts, I'm climbing on the Polaris.

It appears that the Honda owners are lost: they can't figure out which ATV is best and they can't find their own forum.

All I know is that my neighbor bought a used 416EX and it will beat a 98 Sport 400 that has been warmed up some easily. Either will beat my 400EX.
