My father in law is having this same issue with his 2000 TBoss 325. I told him to buy a new filter.

Have you put in a K&N filter my scammy time started to do that, you can rejet or just bring the idle a bit, they seem to run a little on the lean side from the factory.
Just getting thirsty that's all

Assuming yours is the 325 four stroke. If the loud popping is like a backfire, you need to back your fuel screw out.A quarter turn at a time until it goes away.My four stroke dirt bike was doing the same thing. It was explaned to me that four strokes have fuel screws and two strokes have air screws. On a four stroke, the more you back out the screw.the richer it gets.On a two stroke, the more you back out the screw, the leaner it gets.Someone correct me if I'm wrong.
