Ive been looking at buying a new rear chain for my xplorer and I was supprised by the prices.
The dealer sells the stock replacement chain{Regina} for $95 and an cheap looking one for $65. Also I could get a Sidewinder for $105.
Im leaning towards getting the Sidwinder.
Do these prices sound high to you??

I'm needing a new chain too Andy. I ordered one from Hot seat for $65 (RK, X-ring), but it was'nt what I was hoping for. My TB needed a new one anyway so I threw it on that. I checked out DID and others, $80-$100 is the average price. I'm just gonna go through Hot Seat, if they can get me one with gold links.

I'm sure if you looked you could get cheaper ones, but DID, RK, Tsubaki or Sidewinder are all great, in my opinion. Just make sure it's an O-ring chain, able to handle the CC's of your machine.

Trail Blazer,Jay
Were those O ring chains? I think the non O ring ones are quit a bit cheaper.

I got a D.I.D. Gold X-Ring O-Ring chain a few months ago, after my second chain broke and put a hole in the transmission.

Don't buy cheap chains! When my stock one broke, from not setting the tension right and jumping, I bought a cheap one. Even though I washed, kept it lubricated, did all I could to "be nice" to it, it still started loosing o-rings and kinking up. Then it broke, and put a hole in the tranny.

The DID chain looks much better, and stronger. I think it was about $90 from Rocky Mountain ATV with 2 extra master links & over night shipping. I couldn't decide between this, the Tsubaki, and Sidewinder. From what I could tell be the catalog, this looked better than the Tsubaki, and I coudln't find someone with a Sidewinder that could get it to me over night.

Polaris are known for breaking chains. Everbody Iknow bought D.I.D. chains. And no breaks yet. My cousin worked at a dealer so he kinda got the 100% discount. So my family got new chains for free. I would recommend them.

Adam: Sounds like you got the chain I'm wanting. How many links did you get?

Jay400: You may want to look around for an O-ring chain. I used to race my dirtbike with an DID ERT520 (non O-ring), but after moving over to ATV's it seems O-rings are a must with the added torque!!

Sidewinder products are expensive but well worth the cost.
