The EBC severe duty sounds like its worth a try, Ive got a weekend or so left on mine so ill probably give Rocky Mountain a shout in a day or two. On another note my great Titan 489's have let me down again!! I went out to the garage tonite to clean my riding boots to find another flat tire from a damn thorn!! This makes about 8 flats since January!! I think my next major purchase is going to be some 6 ply Bandits !!!!!!!

I'm running a set of the brass pads on the rear of my '00 SP 500 and have no complaints yet. They do make a little noise at first but as time goes on this clears up. I did not ride the bike much when i first put them on but I've got about a hundred miles on them and they sound great and are no worse for wear. I'd recommend them.

My very first set of rear brass pads out lasted any pad I ever tried.Since than,I have had NO luck with Gary Boxs brass pads,in fact,I was wearing out a set in 35 miles of NO mudding in the rear.
My mechanic changed ALL the disks for me,still NO luck with the rears.I have a set of brand new front pads but I wont be tring them.It appears like even my new brake disk in the rear is getting torn up badly.Im not certain what is causing these problems and the front pads will soon be going back.I cannot understand or explain why the brass pads are wearing out so quickly.Im wondering if because the first set of brass rears were installed in the winter,if maybe heat has something to do with the excessive wearing?
Gary Box did send me a new set of rear pads free of charge.Im not real sure if I will install them either. The last set really tore up my Disk.Wished I knew the problem.

Actually the brass pads I recieved from boxbrakes seemed to fill in the pitted back rotor on my bike. The stock shoes I was running failed during a long trip and I had some miles to go before getting back to the truck. This caused some small grooves. The brass brakes seemed to fill these in and now they work great.
